Kilby Laboratory School, on the ذكذكتسئµ campus, had a top finish at the Alabama VEX IQ Championship, competing against 52 of the best teams from across the state. The exceptional skill, creativity, and teamwork demonstrated by the Kilby team earned the members a number of prestigious awards as well as a spot in the World IQ Championship in Dallas in May.
Dr. Martin Hebel, music composition and theory faculty member in the Department of Music at the ذكذكتسئµ, has released a new album. Half Silver is featured on “Orchestral Masters Vol. 11†from Ablaze Records, and was released earlier this month.
Student Counseling Services, part of the Health and Well-Being collective at the ذكذكتسئµ, has partnered with Active Minds to host Send Silence Packing, an exhibit that has traveled the country to end the silence that surrounds mental health and suicide and connect the campus community with resources for support and action.
The ذكذكتسئµ Horn Studio has been accepted by application to perform at the Mid-South Horn Workshop at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark., March 27-29.
Innovate Alabama has announced its third round of designees of the Innovate Alabama Network, and the ذكذكتسئµ has been named as the recipient of two awards that total almost $800,000 through the Network Designation Grant and Project Grant programs.
Light the Fountain, this year presented by Chick-fil-A, is the beloved annual spring event at the ذكذكتسئµ; it returns for a ninth year Thursday. The event, which includes food, music, fireworks, and giveaways, will kick off at 4 p.m. with a variety of food trucks and entertainment. The official program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Sonceria Ann Berry, who graduated from the ذكذكتسئµ in 1978, has been confirmed by the Alabama Senate to fill the Board of Trustees seat currently held by Dr. Wendell Gunn, who did not desire to seek reappointment. The final confirmation took place in Montgomery on Thursday morning, and Berry’s six-year term will begin in July.
